1) How to allocate RAM.

 

The "Allocated memory" line shows the amount of allocated memory (measured in MB). Remove the "Automatic selection" lever to select the amount of allocated memory yourself.

 

Do not specify more memory than your computer has. To see the amount of RAM, go to "Settings" - "System" - "About the program" for Win 10/11.

2) Tips on memory allocation.

 

It is worth allocating no more than half of its maximum for the correct operation of the system. As for the minimum, it is necessary to allocate at least 512Mb (for versions starting from 1.17+ you will need 2048Mb of memory).

 

Mods require a lot of RAM, if you play with mods, then allocate at least 2048Mb (2GB) of RAM. If the game closes with an error, gradually increase the allocation by 512Mb (also the reason for the error may be that you have 32bit Java together with 64bit, or there is a conflict among the mods you downloaded).
