How to switch from an integrated to a discrete graphics card?

In this article we will answer in detail the question "How to switch from an integrated to a discrete graphics card?"

Greetings, Klauncher's support is with you. Today we will answer in detail the question "How to switch from an integrated to a discrete graphics card?"

Why is this necessary?

Some computers have a processor that also contains its own graphics processor, commonly known as an iGPU (Integrated Graphics processor). Although it works like most GPUs, it does not have as high power as most video cards.

One of the possible reasons for low FPS could be a computer using iGPU instead of your graphics card.

In the method for video cards Nvidia we will connect the video card only to Minecraft.

Instructions for Nvidia:

1) Click PCM on the desktop and find the "Nvidia Control Panel".

2) Now you need to do the following steps:

- Open the "3D parameter management" section;
- Go to the "Program Settings" tab;
- Click on the "Add" button and specify the executable file of the program or game that you want to always run with discrete a video card.

Add Java and Minecraft there.

It's done! Now Minecraft will run on a discrete graphics card.

For AMD:

If you have an AMD graphics card, follow these steps to set up a dedicated GPU.

1) Close Minecraft, then right-click on the desktop and select AMD Radeon Software.

2) After opening the software, click the gear icon and select "Graphics" from the submenu, then select "Advanced".

3) Click "GPU Workload" (GPU Workload) and select Graphics. (If you want to do the opposite so that the built-in graphics are used, select Compute). On systems with more than one AMD Radeon graphics processor installed, the GPU workload setting will apply to all AMD Radeon graphics processors.

4) Click OK to restart Radeon Software and the changes will take effect.

After that, everything should be fine! Open KLauncher, run Minecraft and you will get much better performance!
