Installing Java for Windows

 

To install the correct version of Java for your computer, you first need to figure out if you are using a 32-bit or 64-bit Windows operating system.

Press the Win+R keyboard shortcut, the "Run" window opens, type "cmd" and click "OK".

- The "Command Prompt" window should open, enter the command: wmic OS get OSArchitecture

- Press Enter, and after that the second line of output will tell you what bit depth your Windows has.

 

If you use 64-bit

- Switch to page Oracle Java downloads and click "agree and start free download". You will download the installer "jre-8uABC-windows-x64.exe "(where ABC is a two- or three-digit version code).

 

If you use 32-bit

- Switch to page Oracle Java downloads. You will download the installer " jre-8uABC-windows-i586.exe "(where ABC is a two- or three-digit version code).

 

Once you have downloaded and installed Java, everything should be set up. It is recommended to perform a check to make sure that Java is installed correctly.
